MOVING TO A NEW SCHOOL DISTRICT BEFORE THE 2020-21 SCHOOL YEAR?
Here are the dates and information that you must know for schools in Denver, Colorado and all or portions of the surrounding cities and towns of Centennial, Cherry Hills Village, Greenwood Village, Littleton, Foxfield, Englewood, Aurora, Parker, Arvada, Westminster, Golden, Wheat Ridge, Edgewater, Lakewood, Evergreen, Conifer, Highlands Ranch, Lone Tree, Bow Mar, Columbine Valley, Castle Pines, Castle Rock, Franktown, and Larkspur!

It’s a good time to start your home search if your family is planning to move to a different home or school district before the 2020-2021 school year begins in the fall.
See below for start dates for Aurora Public Schools, Cherry Creek Schools, Denver Public Schools, Douglas County Public Schools, Littleton Public Schools, and Jefferson County Public Schools, as well as links to each district’s current registration and admission policies. You’ll want a clear understanding of these policies and what is required by the school district -- and by which dates -- in order to register your child in time for their first day of school.

Covid-19 has shaken up district policies and the local housing market for sure, but the pent up demand for homes within these school districts is poised to unleash on our spring market here in the Denver, Colorado area in the next few weeks. If the upcoming school year is a goalpost for your family, now is the time to list your current house and begin actively looking for the replacement home.
Beginning your process very soon will allow for enough time to be moved in to your new home and unpacked before taking those First Day of School photos! It’s also really nice to be in your new home with a few weeks to spare, when possible, allowing for time to meet other kids in the neighborhood before school begins.
Be sure to call the school district to independently verify the individual school start date and admission information.
